The quaint village of Thirlmere comes alive with steam and nostalgia for the annual Thirlmere Festival of Steam.

STEAM TRAIN RIDES

Enjoy a 40-minute steam train ride along the Loop Line from historic Thirlmere Station. Ride behind a variety of locomotives across the weekend. Steam train rides depart Thirlmere Station throughout the day.

Take a 50-minute 'double-header' steam train ride along the Thirlmere Heritage Railway with historic locomotives 2705 and 3016. Bookings essential.

NSW RAIL MUSEUM

The NSW Rail Museum comes to life with an array of steam, including several historic steam locomotives, live model steam engines, full-size and miniature steam traction engines and a display of vintage machinery. Plus, don’t miss roving performers, mini-train rides, railway art displays and more!

LIVE PERFORMANCES

Come along and watch Mahalia Barnes perform live! Along with Mahalia Barnes the festival will feature live music from a range of other talented local artists.

MAHALIA BARNES

Mahalia Barnes has been in and around music her entire life. Throughout her childhood years she was exposed to everything from Ray Charles, Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett to Ike + Tina Turner, Aretha Franklin, Donny Hathaway and Stevie Wonder, all of which helped shape her into the powerhouse soul and blues vocalist that has jaws dropping every time she picks up a mic. Mahalia and her band, The Soul Mates, have released three albums and consistently play to capacity crowds around the country.

STREET PARADE

Cheer on the vibrant street parade featuring the Camden - Campbelltown District Band Inc, entertainers, community groups, schools and businesses.

The parade commences at 11.00am and passes through the centre of Thirlmere, along Oaks St.

MARKET STALLS

Wander through the streets of beautiful Thirlmere Village and browse all the artisan wares on offer. Why not also sample some of the delicious food and drinks available at the same time.
