Time: 11:00 AM

Contact Details

Name: Macarthur Centre for Sustainable Living

Description

With lightweight plastic bags, disposable plastic straws & cutlery, plastic cotton buds & microbeads being banned in NSW from 2022 under the NSW Government’s Plastics Plan there’s never been a better time to learn how to reduce plastic waste in your home.

In this free workshop, participants will learn about the extent of plastic pollution in our environment, how to avoid creating plastic waste, what plastics can be recycled and where, and how to take action to reduce our use of single use plastic.

We will have examples of alternative products or methods that you can use in place of plastic and information on where to source them including non-plastic bin liners, shopping bags, drink bottles, coffee cups, straws, cutlery, cotton buds, produce bags, cling film, toothbrushes, personal care & cleaning products and so much more.

You'll also learn how to recycle soft plastics through the REDcycle program, what can be recycled at your Community Recycling Centre, what to do with polystyrene and how to make sure you know what plastics can go in your Yellow bin.

COVID Safe Plan

MCSL has a Covid Safe plan. All equipment will be sanitised before and after the workshop. Hand sanitiser and hand washing facilities will be provided.

This sustainable workshop is brought to you by Camden Council.
