Thank goodness for ARThouse Narellan. I know that there are all sorts of reasons for closing a kitchen between lunch and dinner, but surely Sunday is a different day. I often don't start thinking about Sunday lunch til after 2pm. That is exactly what happened Sunday just gone, so I headed off with my son Chad to try and find somewhere to relax and dine on a beautiful Spring day. We arrived at our first destination in Camden at 2.45pm. "Sorry the kitchen is closed..." They were pretty quiet to be honest. Ah well, second choice was at Narellan. "Sorry love we close the kitchen at 3pm," I didn't reply... but why? This venue was packed with people and most of them were still eating. Why would you close the kitchen? They would be opening again in a couple of hours anyway. Why not give your staff a break between 4.30pm and 5.30pm. It was very frustrating. Sometimes our hospitality industry behaves like it is still operating in a country town. ARThouse was my last role of the dice before we were left with the food court at Narellan Town Centre. Not the end of the world, but not what we had in mind either. ARThouse welcomed us - thank goodness. Chad had fish and chips and I had a Tandoori Chicken Salad. It was lovely. The manager told me they encourage people to use them all day on Sunday. Now I know - so do you.
