Scouts are Grinners

Posted: Tuesday, 19 January 2010, 03:26 PM

Early in January 13000 people including scouts, scout leaders and organisers from 17 countries around the world descended on Appin for the Jamboree. 39000 meals in total were produced. Qantas was contracted to service the daily mass catering, however the scouting movement wanted a specialised caterer for their VIPs and functions. Camden business, Grinners Catering Macarthur was the successful tenderer. Grinners were on site for the entire 10 days providing catering for events ranging from cocktail parties for both the official opening and closing ceremonies, breakfasts for sponsors, appreciation functions for contractors and welcome ceremonies for the scouting leaders from around the world, just to name a few. They left quite an impact too. Les Arnold from Grinners Macarthur told me he was asked if Grinners could handle the entire catering at the next Jamboree to be held in 2016. I am not sure what Les said but I bet it got him thinking.
