Another Reader Tip

Posted: Tuesday, 9 February 2010, 08:54 AM

Plenty has happened in the restaurant industry over the Christmas break. This one took me a while get on top of. Stalwart Campbelltown Indian restaurant Amarjits closed its doors and the position in Queen Street has been taken over by Vishal Sardana. He opened Aalishaan Indian Cuisine in January. Once again a reader tipped me off. Keep up the good work. The following is an excerpt from Cynthia Villar's email:

My husband and I had the Sungam Platter with steamed basmati rice, garlic naan, mint lemonade and shared a Pistachio Kulfi (Indian ice-cream), all for under $40. Top taste, top service and top value, in a pleasantly rennovated environment.
