Bingara Gorge Golf Course
Posted: Thursday, 11 November 2010, 04:46 PM
Internationally acclaimed golf course designer Graham Marsh will officially open the Golf Course Viewing Platform at Bingara Gorge this weekend (Saturday, November 13), as part of a two-weekend festival of celebration.
Marsh, one of the most in-demand course designers in the world today, will cut the ribbon on the 9.5 metre timber and steel tower, giving a bird’s eye view over the construction of the 18-hole Par 72 championship course as it evolves over the next two years.
And for the first time, the design of the course will be revealed, with the plan displayed in the viewing tower and Sales and Information Centre. Marsh’s name is attached to courses at Twin Creeks and Terrey Hills in Sydney, but he’s promising a golf course at Bingara Gorge unlike any seen in this city.
Following the official ribbon-cutting ceremony of the Golf Viewing Platform, Marsh will tee off on the practice hole to get the rest of the day’s festivities underway. A nearest the pin competition will run from 11.30am to 2pm and to amuse the younger set there’s a mini-golf putting green. Instructors from the South West Academy of Sport will be on hand to offer golfing tips.
