All Ages Gig at Arts Centre

Posted: Monday, 4 April 2011, 04:10 PM

Youth Week 2011 is set to rock, with a great line-up of local and national acts confirmed for Campbelltown City Council’s All Ages Gig on Saturday 9 April. Headlining the show will be progressive pop rock band, Only The Sea Slugs, whose credits include being picked up by triple j Unearthed and playing alongside some of Australia’s most popular bands, such as Thirsty Merc.

The up and coming local stars will be just as big a drawcard, with performers including the hot and happening bands Will and the Indians and Suburban Lies, both of whom recently put their talents to the test in the inaugural Battle of the Bands competition at Ingleburn Alive. While Will and the Indians came out on top in that competition, the lead singer of Suburban Lies, Lauren Waite, had previously earned her own recognition, taking out the title of overall Youth Talent Quest winner at Council’s Australia Day festivities earlier this year.

Other crowd pleasers at the All Ages Gig will be solo artist Luke McKay, and the unique sounds of The Understatement and Ghosts of York.

Youth Week 2011 is being held from 1 to 10 April. The drug and alcohol free All Ages Gig will be held at Campbelltown Arts Centre from 3pm to 7.30pm on Saturday 9 April. Tickets are available at the door for $15.
