Serious About Coffee?
Posted: Sunday, 23 May 2010, 05:32 PM
I visited R.Coffee Co at Picton on Synday for a light lunch, and of course, a coffee. R.Coffee Co's namesake Ryan, is very serious about coffee. Chatting to Ryan when he is behind the machine is a bit like chatting to a winemaker about wine. "Caramel, cherry, rich creamy body..." You get the picture. Ryan is professional and passionate about creating a wonderful coffee. My coffee was fantastic - as expected, but my lunch was also extremely good and very cheap. My son Chad had a Roast Chicken and Crispy Noodle Salad while I had a Spiced Lamb, Pistachio and Roquette Salad on a Hommus base. Both were clean, fresh, light and very tasty. Both were about $12 too - very good value. Grab a cold bottle of NZ or WA Sauv Blanc and head down to R.Coffee Co on Argyle Street Picton. They serve breakfast and lunch from a blackboard menu which changes every couple of weeks. The room is cool, the staff are cool, the food is cool. I love it.
