Intro from the Editor David Everett

More magnificent Macarthur images in this edition. Local photographer James Simpson presents a stunning collection of images from between 0 to 3000 feet above our district, a height achieved courtesy of Balloon Aloft.

Camden locals have a real affection for hot air ballooning. It is a romantic and nostalgic pastime that fits their parochial narrative.

From the hot air balloon, James would have seen the new housing estates sprawling towards the north west from our district. I sat down with Perich Group CEO, Tim Bryan, to catch up on where the whole project is up to. Page 56.

There's also an update on Macarthur's first national level sports team. Macarthur FC will be competing in the A League this time next year. Go to page 38 for the very latest  news on the The Bulls.

I hope you enjoy Summer in Macarthur as much as we enjoyed creating it. I hope too that you get some quality holiday time with your family.

Win a dining experience at one of the district's longest serving Thai restaurants. Saam opened her restaurant in Dumaresq Street 13 years ago and Wnida from Songkhala has been cooking with her the whole time. Saam always had a passion for cooking. "Back in Thailand, I had a little shop for seven years in my home town, Sattahip."

Saam recently introduced an 'all you can eat' buffet.
