Applications are now open for the Ingleburn Alive Battle of the Bands and Dance Academy Competition. Both will take place at the annual event in the streets of Ingleburn on Saturday 19 March. A crowd of around 10,000 people will be in attendance.

New to this year’s festivities, the Battle of the Bands will be tempting tunes from local rockers, boppers, hip-hoppers and bands of every musical persuasion who are keen to earn the $500 prize as well as an exclusive 30-minute set on the stage.

The Battle of the Bands is open to young people aged 15 to 25 years, who live, work or study in the Macarthur region. Each band will be permitted to perform up to two songs on stage, with a maximum of 10 minutes performing time.

Another crowd pleaser will be the Dance Academy Competition, which is returning to Ingleburn Alive for 2011. Open to any dance school in the Campbelltown Local Government Area, the Dance Academy Competition will cater to all budding ballerinas, hip hop artists, jazz, tap and contemporary dancers, as well as Irish, RnB, krump, ballroom, folk, traditional, belly, Latin and all other performers across the dance genres. First prize in the Dance Academy Competition is $300, followed by a second prize of $150.


Entry to the Battle of the Bands will close on Wednesday 23 February, while entry to the Dance Academy Competition will close on Wednesday 2 March.
