Contemporary Music in Campbelltown

Posted: Wednesday, 13 April 2011, 04:23 PM

Campbelltown Arts Centre is fast gaining a reputation as one of the major musical hubs of Sydney, with audiences flocking to its program of outstanding performers appearing throughout the year. This May, the Centre is taking on an international focus with three major concerts featuring some of the world’s most accomplished international artists.

Pacal and Ami Rogé, Four Hands, Two Hearts
Sunday 15 May, 2.30pm

The Bowed Piano Ensemble, The Bowed Piano
Saturday 21 May, 8pm

Something Connected with Energy: The Music of Michael Nyman
Sunday 29 May, 2.30pm

Not only does Campbelltown Arts Centre present world class artists but it ensures community engagement through free public music forums associated with each event, facilitated by leading local artists. For Guest Music Curator, Dr. Matthew Hindson, the Music in May program exemplifies the spirit of fine musical tradition that is the backbone of Campbelltown Arts Centre program for 2011. “Sydney deserves to hear these world‐class artists, and the Campbelltown Arts Centre is the perfect venue for both performer and listener alike.”
